  History

The SWAP Honeycomb was developed in Switzerland in the early 1990s by the former SWAP Technology AG and has been protected by various patents.

The utilisation possibilities of SWAP Honeycomb (pallets, furniture, products for the building industry, for shops and exhibition constructions, up to a prefabricated home) were tangibly presented through a wide range of prototypes.

1996 - SWAP Technology AG founded SWAP (Sachsen) GmbH in Frankenberg which headed the production of paper honeycomb.

2001 - the new SWAP Holding AG was formed – the first company to start the actual industrialisation of the SWAP Honeycomb products.

2002 - The company had been flooded totally by water. A new era in the history of the company was opened with the relocation of the new production halls. At the same time, they invested in new production technologies, to allow for increasing demands on capacity and quality of the automotive industry.

2006 - the company had its 10th anniversary . Furthermore the production hall had been enlarged to another complex and the shipping hall at existing areas had been built on. Thus was secured that the continuously increasing demand can be served for a long period of time.

2007 - Dislocation of the dispatch in the new production hall located at Gewerbering 7

2008 - installation of new staff facilities for employees. Changing of the management, Mr. Dipl.-Ing. (Univ.), Dipl.-Economy.-Ing. Michael Koslow assumes on 01.07.2008 as the sole management.

2009 - the company runs through a process of reorganisation and focuses prospectively on the production and the dispatch of compounds and lightweight material for different market segmentation. The European expansion is initiated. This process will be accompanied by the import and realization of a new Corporate Design. The internal infrastructural measures will be completed with the construction of the administration building. Major investments in the newest technologies and development or launch of new products B1-Wave (fireproof) and WR-Wave (water-resistant) build the sustainable basis for the further growth.
